Then I was told: These words are true and can be trusted. The Lord God controls the spirits of his prophets, and he is the one who sent his angel to show his servants what must happen very soon.

This message is certainly true. These teachings are useful and helpful for everyone. I want you to insist that the people follow them, so that all who have faith in God will be sure to do good deeds.

Here is a true message: “If we died with Christ, we will live with him.

God sent his chosen Son to you first, because God wanted to bless you and make each one of you turn away from your sins.

Everyone who has faith in the Son has eternal life. But no one who rejects him will ever share in that life, and God will be angry with them forever.

Then the one sitting on the throne said: I am making everything new. Write down what I have said. My words are true and can be trusted.

God has also said he gave us eternal life and this life comes to us from his Son.

You will be faithful and have a clear conscience. Some people have made a mess of their faith because they didn't listen to their consciences.

Don't be cruel to any of these little ones! I promise you their angels are always with my Father in heaven.

When they heard Peter say this, they stopped arguing and started praising God. They said, “God has now let Gentiles turn to him, and he has given life to them!”

The apostles and the followers in Judea heard that Gentiles had accepted God's message.

I will forgive you, but you will think about your sins and be too ashamed to say a word. I, the Lord God, have spoken.

That's why I hate myself and sit here in dust and ashes to show my sorrow.

So the Pharisees and the teachers of the Law of Moses started grumbling, “This man is friendly with sinners. He even eats with them.”

I hope in this way to make some of my own people jealous enough to be saved.

Now I ask you to make a promise. Make it in the presence of God, who gives life to all, and in the presence of Christ Jesus, who openly told Pontius Pilate about his faith.
