Elijah obeyed the Lord and went to live near Cherith Creek.

And you are my friends, if you obey me.

Then Jesus said to his disciples: If any of you want to be my followers, you must forget about yourself. You must take up your cross and follow me.

With all your heart you must trust the Lord and not your own judgment.

and he spent the night there in a cave. While Elijah was on Mount Sinai, the Lord asked, “Elijah, why are you here?”

You can drink water from the creek, and eat the food I've told the ravens to bring you.”

Ravens brought him bread and meat twice a day, and he drank water from the creek.

Then they left and did what Moses and Aaron had told them to do.
