You leaders of my people are like shepherds that kill and scatter the sheep.

For a little while, your temple belonged to us; and now our enemies have torn it down.

but shepherds will surround it and divided up, then let their flocks eat all the grass.

I have always wanted to treat you as my children and give you the best land, the most beautiful on earth. I wanted you to call me “Father” and not turn from me.

Ezekiel, son of man, Israel's leaders are like shepherds taking care of my sheep, the people of Israel. But I want you to condemn these leaders and tell them: I, the Lord God, say you shepherds of Israel are doomed! You take care of yourselves while ignoring my sheep.

Then one of the holy angels asked another, “When will the daily sacrifices be offered again? What about this horrible rebellion? When will the temple and heaven's army no longer be trampled in the dust?”

That's why I came with a whirlwind and scattered them among foreign nations, leaving their lovely country empty of people and in ruins.

He will even judge you rulers and leaders of his own nation. You destroyed his vineyard and filled your houses by robbing the poor.

Like a lion leaving its den, the Lord has abandoned his people to the destruction of war.

They strayed in every direction, and because there was no shepherd to watch them, they were attacked and eaten by wild animals.
