I was in terrible trouble when I called out to you, but from your temple you heard me and answered my prayer.

I prayed and said, “Lord, please don't let me die!”

When my life was slipping away, I remembered you— and in your holy temple you heard my prayer.

When I am in trouble, I pray,

The Lord said: I have seen how my people are suffering as slaves in Egypt, and I have heard them beg for my help because of the way they are being mistreated. I feel sorry for them,

Let all the world be silent— the Lord is present in his holy temple.

I thought I was swept away from your sight, never again to see your holy temple.

Jesus was in great pain and prayed so sincerely that his sweat fell to the ground like drops of blood.

You were in serious trouble, but you prayed to the Lord, and he rescued you.
