They reached Bethlehem, and the whole town was excited to see them. The women who lived there asked, "Can this really be Naomi?"

Can this be the happy city that has stood for centuries? Its people have spread to distant lands;
Those who pass by shake their heads and sneer as they make fun and shout, "What a lovely city you were, the happiest on earth, but look at you now!"
When Jesus came to Jerusalem, everyone in the city was excited and asked, "Who can this be?"
Then she told them, "Don't call me Naomi any longer! Call me Mara, because God has made my life bitter.
The man answered, "She is the one who came back from Moab with Naomi.
