Please, LORD, remember, you have always been patient and kind.

You, LORD, never fail to have pity on me; your love and faithfulness always keep me secure.

(For the music leader. A psalm by David when the prophet Nathan came to him after David had been with Bathsheba.) You are kind, God! Please have pity on me. You are always merciful! Please wipe away my sins.

You people of Israel, say, "God pays no attention to us! He doesn't care if we are treated unjustly." But how can you say that?

Please, LORD, look down from your holy and glorious home in the heavens and see what's going on. Have you lost interest? Where is your power? Show that you care about us and have mercy!

God is no mere human! He doesn't tell lies or change his mind. God always keeps his promises.

All people have disobeyed God, and that's why he treats them as prisoners. But he does this, so that he can have mercy on all of them.

If we have all we need and see one of our own people in need, we must have pity on that person, or else we cannot say we love God.
