Our God, you save us, and your fearsome deeds answer our prayers for justice! You give hope to people everywhere on earth, even those across the sea.

Some of you made a living by sailing the mighty sea,

Our LORD, everything you do is kind and thoughtful,

Everyone on this earth will remember you, LORD. People all over the world will turn and worship you,

The life-giving fountain belongs to you, and your light gives light to each of us.

and ride out in splendor! Win victories for truth and mercy and justice. Do fearsome things with your powerful arm.

Say to God, "Everything you do is fearsome, and your mighty power makes your enemies come crawling.

You bless all who depend on you for their strength and all who deeply desire to visit your temple.

Our LORD and our God, you save us! Please bring us back home and don't be angry.

The LORD sent an angel to the camp of the Assyrians, and he killed one hundred eighty-five thousand of them all in one night. The next morning, the camp was full of dead bodies.

"I invite the whole world to turn to me and be saved. I alone am God! No others are real.

Those who live across the sea are eagerly waiting for me to rescue them. I am strong and ready; soon I will come to save and to rule all nations.

When you see this, your faces will glow; your hearts will pound and swell with pride. Treasures from across the sea and the wealth of nations will be brought to you.

by proving what I can do. I will send the survivors to Tarshish, Pul, Lud, Meshech, Tubal, Javan, and to the distant islands. I will send them to announce my wonderful glory to nations that have never heard about me.

I will fiercely attack. Then every god on this earth will shrink to nothing, and everyone of every nation will bow down to me, right where they are.

But tell my servant Zerubbabel that I, the LORD All-Powerful, have chosen him, and he will rule in my name.

I, the LORD, will take away war chariots and horses from Israel and Jerusalem. Bows that were made for battle will be broken. I will bring peace to nations, and your king will rule from sea to sea. His kingdom will reach from the Euphrates River across the earth.

But you are stubborn and refuse to turn to God. So you are making things even worse for yourselves on that day when he will show how angry he is and will judge the world with fairness.

Offer your praises to him, because you have seen him work such terrifying miracles for you.

Then I heard the angel, who has power over water, say, "You have always been, and you always will be the holy God. You had the right to judge in this way.
