Have you rejected us? You don't lead our armies.

I run to you for protection. Why have you turned me away? Why must enemies mistreat me and make me sad?

He wrote it during his wars with the Arameans of northern Syria, when Joab came back and killed twelve thousand Edomites in Salt Valley.) You, God, are angry with us! We are rejected and crushed. Make us strong again!

Have you rejected us and deserted our armies?

(A special psalm by Asaph.) Our God, why have you completely rejected us? Why are you so angry with the ones you care for?

Why do you reject me? Why do you turn from me?

The LORD says: Don't brag about your wisdom or strength or wealth.

If you feel you must brag, then have enough sense to brag about worshiping me, the LORD. What I like best is showing kindness, justice, and mercy to everyone on earth.
