I will tell the promise that the LORD made to me: "You are my son, because today I have become your father.

I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I'll see that he is corrected, just as children are corrected by their parents.

But he alone is God, and who can oppose him? God does as he pleases,

The Word became a human being and lived here with us. We saw his true glory, the glory of the only Son of the Father. From him all the kindness and all the truth of God have come down to us.

No one has ever seen God. The only Son, who is truly God and is closest to the Father, has shown us what God is like.

God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die.

that he has kept this promise to us. It is just as the second Psalm says about Jesus, "You are my son because today I have become your Father."

As they were going along the road, they came to a place where there was some water. The official said, "Look! Here is some water. Why can't I be baptized?"

But Christ is the Son in charge of God's people. And we are those people, if we keep on being brave and don't lose hope.

That is how it was with Christ. He became a high priest, but not just because he wanted the honor of being one. It was God who told him, "You are my Son, because today I have become your Father!"

Jesus is God's own Son, but still he had to suffer before he could learn what it really means to obey God.
