Respect and obey the LORD! This is the beginning of knowledge. Only a fool rejects wisdom and good advice.

Stay away from fools, or you won't learn a thing.

Eliakim, Shebna, and Joah had been warned by King Hezekiah not to answer the Assyrian commander. So they tore their clothes in sorrow and reported to Hezekiah everything the commander had said.

Don't give to dogs what belongs to God. They will only turn and attack you. Don't throw pearls down in front of pigs. They will trample all over them.

The Pharisees really loved money. So when they heard what Jesus said, they made fun of him.

Many of them said, "He has a demon in him! He is crazy! Why listen to him?"

Then the people said, "Now we are sure that you have a demon. Abraham is dead, and so are the prophets. How can you say that no one who obeys your words will ever die?

When the Pharisees heard Jesus say this, they asked, "Are we blind?"

Some of them were Epicureans and some were Stoics, and they started arguing with him. People were asking, "What is this know-it-all trying to say?" Some even said, "Paul must be preaching about foreign gods! That's what he means when he talks about Jesus and about people rising from death."

As soon as the people heard Paul say that a man had been raised from death, some of them started laughing. Others said, "We will hear you talk about this some other time."
