You know that our father died in the desert. But it was for something he did wrong, not for joining with Korah in rebelling against the LORD. Our father left no sons

The lives of all people belong to me--parents as well as children. Only those who sin will be put to death.

You sinful people who ganged up against me will die here in the desert.

Meanwhile, Korah had convinced the rest of the Israelites to rebel against their two leaders. When that happened, the LORD appeared in all his glory

But fourteen thousand seven hundred Israelites were dead, not counting those who had died with Korah and his followers.

One day his daughters went to the sacred tent, where they met with Moses, Eleazar, and some other leaders of Israel, as well as a large crowd of Israelites. The young women said:

to carry on his family name. But why should his name die out for that reason? Give us some land like the rest of his relatives in our clan, so our father's name can live on.

Jesus also told them, "I am going away, and you will look for me. But you cannot go where I am going, and you will die with your sins unforgiven."

That is why I said you will die with your sins unforgiven. If you don't have faith in me for who I am, you will die, and your sins will not be forgiven."

Adam sinned, and that sin brought death into the world. Now everyone has sinned, and so everyone must die.

Sin ruled by means of death. But God's kindness now rules, and God has accepted us because of Jesus Christ our Lord. This means that we will have eternal life.

Sin pays off with death. But God's gift is eternal life given by Jesus Christ our Lord.
