That's what it means to truly know me. So he lived a comfortable life and always had enough to eat and drink.

The LORD says: Don't brag about your wisdom or strength or wealth.

It is good to wait patiently for the LORD to save us.

I will forgive you, but you will think about your sins and be too ashamed to say a word. I, the LORD God, have spoken.

Suppose I warn wicked people that they will die because of their sins, and they stop sinning and start doing right.

That's why I say: "Praise and honor the King who rules from heaven! Everything he does is honest and fair, and he can shatter the power of those who are proud."

So return to your God. Patiently trust him, and show love and justice.

I'd rather for you to be faithful and to know me than to offer sacrifices.

But let justice and fairness flow like a river that never runs dry.

I am the LORD, and it makes sense to respect my power to punish. So listen to my message for the city of Jerusalem:

If you humbly obey the LORD, then come and worship him. If you do right and are humble, perhaps you will be safe on that day when the LORD turns loose his anger.

God blesses those people who depend only on him. They belong to the kingdom of heaven!

God blesses those people who are merciful. They will be treated with mercy!

but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen what is best, and it will not be taken away from her."

You Pharisees are in for trouble! You give God a tenth of the spices from your gardens, such as mint and rue. But you cheat people, and you don't love God. You should be fair and kind to others and still give a tenth to God.

Jesus answered, "Who gave me the right to settle arguments between you and your brother?"

Have pity on others, just as your Father has pity on you.

Although I don't do what I know is right, I agree that the Law is good.

But, my friend, I ask, "Who do you think you are to question God? Does the clay have the right to ask the potter why he shaped it the way he did?

And besides, how do you know if you will be able to save your husband or wife who isn't a follower?

Instead, be kind and merciful, and forgive others, just as God forgave you because of Christ.

So you must obey his laws and teachings that I am giving you."

Today I am giving you a choice. You can choose life and success or death and disaster.

God loves you and has chosen you as his own special people. So be gentle, kind, humble, meek, and patient.

God our Father loves us. He is kind and has given us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope. We pray that our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father

Does some stupid person want proof that faith without deeds is useless?

Then Joshua told the people: Worship the LORD, obey him, and always be faithful. Get rid of the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived on the other side of the Euphrates River and in Egypt.

Finally, all of you should agree and have concern and love for each other. You should also be kind and humble.

I would be disobeying the LORD if I stopped praying for you! I will always teach you how to live right.

"Tell me," Samuel said. "Does the LORD really want sacrifices and offerings? No! He doesn't want your sacrifices. He wants you to obey him.
