Come, my children, listen as I teach you to respect the LORD.

Bride of the king, listen carefully to me. Forget your own people and your father's family.

My son, pay close attention to what I have said.

Pay attention, my children! Follow my advice, and you will be happy.

Plant your seeds early in the morning and keep working in the field until dark. Who knows? Your work might pay off, and your seeds might produce.

You people are stubborn and far from being safe, so listen to me.
