Whenever you stand up to pray, you must forgive what others have done to you. Then your Father in heaven will forgive your sins.

I was given another vision. This time Joshua the high priest was standing in front of the LORD's angel. And there was Satan, standing at Joshua's right side, ready to accuse him.

So if you are about to place your gift on the altar and remember that someone is angry with you,

Forgive us for doing wrong, as we forgive others.

When you pray, don't be like those show-offs who love to stand up and pray in the meeting places and on the street corners. They do this just to look good. I can assure you that they already have their reward.

The Pharisee stood over by himself and prayed, "God, I thank you that I am not greedy, dishonest, and unfaithful in marriage like other people. And I am really glad that I am not like that tax collector over there.

The tax collector stood off at a distance and did not think he was good enough even to look up toward heaven. He was so sorry for what he had done that he pounded his chest and prayed, "God, have pity on me! I am such a sinner."

Jesus said: Don't judge others, and God won't judge you. Don't be hard on others, and God won't be hard on you. Forgive others, and God will forgive you.

Instead, be kind and merciful, and forgive others, just as God forgave you because of Christ.

Put up with each other, and forgive anyone who does you wrong, just as Christ has forgiven you.

Do this, because on the day of judgment there will be no pity for those who have not had pity on others. But even in judgment, God is merciful!

These two witnesses are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand in the presence of the Lord who rules the earth.
