At once Jesus asked them to come with him. They left their father in the boat with the hired workers and went with him.

Elisha stopped plowing and ran after him. "Let me kiss my parents good-by, then I'll go with you," he said. "You can go," Elijah said. "But remember what I've done for you."

We are careful not to judge people by what they seem to be, though we once judged Christ in that way.

Protecting Israel's agreement with the LORD was more important to you than the life of your father or mother, or brothers or sisters, or your own children.
