Sell what you have and give the money to the poor. Make yourselves moneybags that never wear out. Make sure your treasure is safe in heaven, where thieves cannot steal it and moths cannot destroy it.

Some who have nothing may pretend to be rich, and some who have everything may pretend to be poor.

You harvest less than you plant, you never have enough to eat or drink, your clothes don't keep you warm, and your wages are stored in bags full of holes.

Jesus replied, "If you want to be perfect, go sell everything you own! Give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven. Then come and be my follower."

If you would only give what you have to the poor, everything you do would please God.

"This is what happens to people who store up everything for themselves, but are poor in the sight of God."

My disciples, I tell you to use wicked wealth to make friends for yourselves. Then when it is gone, you will be welcomed into an eternal home.

When Jesus heard this, he said, "There is one thing you still need to do. Go and sell everything you own! Give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven. Then come and be my follower."

Judas did not really care about the poor. He asked this because he carried the moneybag and sometimes would steal from it.

They would sell their property and possessions and give the money to whoever needed it.

Although they were going through hard times and were very poor, they were glad to give generously.
