Share what you have with seven or eight others, because you never know when disaster may strike.

Share your food with everyone who is hungry; share your home with the poor and homeless. Give clothes to those in need; don't turn away your relatives.

The disciples talked this over and said to each other, "He must be saying this because we didn't bring along any bread."

When people ask you for something, give it to them. When they want to borrow money, lend it to them.

An expert in the Law of Moses stood up and asked Jesus a question to see what he would say. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to have eternal life?"

Jesus said to his disciples: I tell you not to worry about your life! Don't worry about having something to eat or wear.

Don't keep worrying about having something to eat or drink.

Sell what you have and give the money to the poor. Make yourselves moneybags that never wear out. Make sure your treasure is safe in heaven, where thieves cannot steal it and moths cannot destroy it.

The manager said to himself, "What shall I do now that my master is going to fire me? I can't dig ditches, and I'm ashamed to beg.

My disciples, I tell you to use wicked wealth to make friends for yourselves. Then when it is gone, you will be welcomed into an eternal home.

When Jesus heard this, he said, "There is one thing you still need to do. Go and sell everything you own! Give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven. Then come and be my follower."

"That's fine, my good servant!" the king said. "Since you have shown that you can be trusted with a small amount, you will be given ten cities to rule."

John told them, "If you have two coats, give one to someone who doesn't have any. If you have food, share it with someone else."

After he had led them out of the jail, he asked, "What must I do to be saved?"

When the people heard this, they were very upset. They asked Peter and the other apostles, "Friends, what shall we do?"

Take care of God's needy people and welcome strangers into your home.

Warn the rich people of this world not to be proud or to trust in wealth that is easily lost. Tell them to have faith in God, who is rich and blesses us with everything we need to enjoy life.

We know what love is because Jesus gave his life for us. That's why we must give our lives for each other.
