No one is to work on that day--it is the Great Day of Forgiveness, when sacrifices will be offered to me, so that I will forgive your sins.

The LORD decided his servant would suffer as a sacrifice to take away the sin and guilt of others. Now the servant will live to see his own descendants. He did everything the LORD had planned.

God has decided that for seventy weeks, your people and your holy city must suffer as the price of their sins. Then evil will disappear, and justice will rule forever; the visions and words of the prophets will come true, and a most holy place will be dedicated.

This is the day on which the sacrifice for the forgiveness of your sins will be made in my presence,

He will offer these sacrifices for the most holy place, the sacred tent, the bronze altar, all the priests, and for the whole community.

You must celebrate this day each year--it is the Great Day of Forgiveness for all the sins of the people of Israel. Moses did exactly as the LORD had commanded.

Joshua, I have placed in front of you a stone with seven sides. I will engrave something on that stone, and in a single day I will forgive this guilty country.

So we are made holy because Christ obeyed God and offered himself once for all.

By his one sacrifice he has forever set free from sin the people he brings to God.

Then Christ went once for all into the most holy place and freed us from sin forever. He did this by offering his own blood instead of the blood of goats and bulls.

If he had offered himself every year, he would have suffered many times since the creation of the world. But instead, near the end of time he offered himself once and for all, so that he could be a sacrifice that does away with sin.

Christ is the sacrifice that takes away our sins and the sins of all the world's people.

Real love isn't our love for God, but his love for us. God sent his Son to be the sacrifice by which our sins are forgiven.

Water and blood came out from the side of Jesus Christ. It wasn't just water, but water and blood. The Spirit tells about this, because the Spirit is truthful.
