our city is in ruins, overrun by wild dogs.
Nebuzaradan burned down the LORD's temple, the king's palace, and every important building in the city, as well as all the houses.
Tobiah from Ammon was standing beside Sanballat and said, "Look at the wall they are building! Why, even a fox could knock over this pile of stones."

Finally, my anger struck like a raging flood, and today Jerusalem and the towns of Judah are nothing but empty ruins.
and he burned down the LORD's temple, the king's palace, and every important building in the city, as well as all the houses.
I weep for the pastureland in the hill country. It's so barren and scorched that no one travels there. No cattle can be found there, and birds and wild animals have all disappeared.
I heard the LORD reply, "When I am finished, Jerusalem and the towns of Judah will be piles of ruins where only jackals live."

And so, because of you, Jerusalem will be plowed under and left in ruins. Thorns will cover the mountain where the temple now stands.
