Jesus asked a third time, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus had asked him three times if he loved him. So he told Jesus, "Lord, you know everything. You know I love you." Jesus replied, "Feed my sheep.

Once more Peter denied it, and right then a rooster crowed.

I tell you for certain that when you were a young man, you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will hold out your hands. Then others will wrap your belt around you and lead you where you don't want to go."

Jesus told her, "Go and bring your husband."

Then they all prayed, "Lord, you know what everyone is like! Show us the one you have chosen

This happened three times before it was all taken back into heaven.

He knows what is in everyone's heart. And he showed that he had chosen the Gentiles, when he gave them the Holy Spirit, just as he had given his Spirit to us.

We can be proud of our clear conscience. We have always lived honestly and sincerely, especially when we were with you. And we were guided by God's wonderful kindness instead of by the wisdom of this world.

Don't make God's Spirit sad. The Spirit makes you sure that someday you will be free from your sins.

The LORD is the greatest God! We ask him to be our witness, because he knows whether or not we were rebellious or unfaithful when we built that altar. If we were unfaithful, then we pray that God won't rescue us today. Let us tell you why we built that altar,

On that day you will be glad, even if you have to go through many hard trials for a while.

My dear friends, this is the second letter I have written to encourage you to do some honest thinking. I don't want you to forget

I will even kill her followers. Then all the churches will see that I know everyone's thoughts and feelings. I will treat each of you as you deserve.

I correct and punish everyone I love. So make up your minds to turn away from your sins.
