But those who are evil will go blind and lose their way. Their only escape is death!

Now let me die! I'd be better off dead.

During the day the LORD sent a scorching wind, and the sun beat down on Jonah's head, making him feel faint. Jonah was ready to die, and he shouted, "I wish I were dead!"

If this is the way you're going to treat me, just kill me now and end my miserable life!

In those days people will want to die, but they will not be able to. They will hope for death, but it will escape from them.
