You will go there to hunt with your bow and arrows, because the whole country will be covered with thornbushes.

These shorts were tight around your waist, and that's how tightly I held onto the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. I wanted them to be my people. I wanted to make them famous, so that other nations would praise and honor me, but they refused to obey me.

When that happens, all nations on earth will see the good things I have done for Jerusalem, and how I have given it complete peace. The nations will celebrate and praise and honor me, but they will also tremble with fear.

You will ask the way to Zion and then come and join with me in making an agreement you won't break or forget.

When that happens, the people of Israel will no longer have cruel neighbors that abuse them and make them feel as though they are in a field of thorns and briers. And the Israelites will know that I, the LORD God, have done these things.

The most honest of them is worse than a thorn patch. Your doom has come! Lookouts sound the warning, and everyone panics.

"Praise God in heaven! Peace on earth to everyone who pleases God."

When you become fruitful disciples of mine, my Father will be honored.

I am using these everyday examples, because in some ways you are still weak. You used to let the different parts of your body be slaves of your evil thoughts. But now you must make every part of your body serve God, so that you will belong completely to him.

Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new.

If you have the gift of speaking, preach God's message. If you have the gift of helping others, do it with the strength that God supplies. Everything should be done in a way that will bring honor to God because of Jesus Christ, who is glorious and powerful forever. Amen.
