He was condemned to death without a fair trial. Who could have imagined what would happen to him? His life was taken away because of the sinful things my people had done.

Rulers and judges gossip about me, and drunkards make up songs to mock me.

I am no better off than those in the grave, those you have forgotten and no longer help.

The LORD will reward him with honor and power for sacrificing his life. Others thought he was a sinner, but he suffered for our sins and asked God to forgive us.

He was wounded and crushed because of our sins; by taking our punishment, he made us completely well.

The crowd replied, "He claimed to be the Son of God! Our Jewish Law says that he must be put to death."

He was treated like a nobody and did not receive a fair trial. How can he have children, if his life is snatched away?"

Christ died once for our sins. An innocent person died for those who are guilty. Christ did this to bring you to God, when his body was put to death and his spirit was made alive.
