You people of Israel, say, "God pays no attention to us! He doesn't care if we are treated unjustly." But how can you say that?

Tell the heavens and the earth to celebrate and sing; command every mountain to join in the song. The LORD's people have suffered, but he has shown mercy and given them comfort.

The LORD answered, "Could a mother forget a child who nurses at her breast? Could she fail to love an infant who came from her own body? Even if a mother could forget, I will never forget you.

You were like a young wife, brokenhearted and crying because her husband had divorced her. But the LORD your God says, "I am taking you back!

I will pick you up and throw you far away. And I will abandon this city of Jerusalem that I gave to your ancestors.

Some time ago, the LORD appeared to me and told me to say: Israel, I will always love you; that's why I've been so patient and kind.

Why have you forgotten us for so long?

The LORD said: Ezekiel, son of man, the people of Israel are complaining that the punishment for their sins is more than they can stand. They have lost all hope for survival, and they blame me.
