I am your servant, and the people of Israel belong to you, and so whenever any of us look toward this temple and pray, answer from your home in heaven and forgive our sins.

How far has the LORD taken our sins from us? Farther than the distance from east to west!

The LORD forgives our sins, heals us when we are sick,

Be true to your name, LORD, by forgiving each one of my terrible sins.

Forget each wrong I did when I was young. Show how truly kind you are and remember me.

I know about my sins, and I cannot forget my terrible guilt.

You are really the one I have sinned against; I have disobeyed you and have done wrong. So it is right and fair for you to correct and punish me.

Turn your eyes from my sin and cover my guilt.

I, the LORD, invite you to come and talk it over. Your sins are scarlet red, but they will be whiter than snow or wool.

I will protect it for the sake of my own honor and because of the promise I made to my servant David.

It was for my own good that I had such hard times. But your love protected me from doom in the deep pit, and you turned your eyes away from my sins.

I alone am the LORD; only I can rescue you.

I did this because of who I am. I refuse to be dishonored or share my praise with any other god.

Give up your crooked ways and your evil thoughts. Return to the LORD our God. He will be merciful and forgive your sins.

You, LORD, are our Father. We are nothing but clay, but you are the potter who molded us.

Don't be so furious or keep our sins in your thoughts forever! Remember that all of us are your people.

"No longer will they have to teach one another to obey me. I, the LORD, promise that all of them will obey me, ordinary people and rulers alike. I will forgive their sins and forget the evil things they have done."

I will rescue a few people from Israel and Judah. I will forgive them so completely that their sin and guilt will disappear, never to be found.

All their sins will be forgiven, and they will live because they did right.

But that would have disgraced me, because many other nations had seen me bring the Israelites out of Egypt.

But I did not. That would have disgraced me in front of the nations that had seen me bring the Israelites out of Egypt.

But that would have made me look like a liar, because I had already promised in front of everyone that I would lead them out of Egypt.

Their past sins will be forgiven, and they will live because they have done right.

so tell the Israelites that I am saying: You have disgraced my holy name among the nations where you now live. So you don't deserve what I'm going to do for you. I will lead you home to bring honor to my name

People of Israel, I'm not doing these things for your sake. You sinned against me, and you must suffer shame and disgrace for what you have done. I, the LORD God, have spoken.

"Why would he say such a thing? He must think he is God! Only God can forgive sins."

The Pharisees and the experts began arguing, "Jesus must think he is God! Only God can forgive sins."

So turn to God! Give up your sins, and you will be forgiven.

The Law came, so that the full power of sin could be seen. Yet where sin was powerful, God's kindness was even more powerful.

God was very kind to us because of the Son he dearly loves, and so we should praise God.

Then I will forget about their sins and no longer remember their evil deeds."

I will treat them with kindness, even though they are wicked. I will forget their sins."
