I am no longer angry. But if it produces thorns, I will go to war against it and burn it to the ground.
But evil people are pulled up like thornbushes. They are not dug up by hand,
but with a sharp spear and are burned on the spot.
The LORD won't always be angry and point out our sins;
Your fierce anger is no longer aimed at us.
The holy God, who is the light of Israel, will turn into a fire, and in one day you will go up in flames, just like a thornbush.
At that time you will say, "I thank you, LORD! You were angry with me, but you stopped being angry and gave me comfort.
You will be burned to ashes like thorns in a fire.
Evil had spread like a raging forest fire sending thornbushes up in smoke.
I will bless you with a future filled with hope--a future of success, not of suffering.
I will forgive you, but you will think about your sins and be too ashamed to say a word. I, the LORD God, have spoken.
When I come to bring justice, you will trample those who are evil, as though they were ashes under your feet. I, the LORD All-Powerful, have spoken!
His threshing fork is in his hand, and he is ready to separate the wheat from the husks. He will store the wheat in a barn and burn the husks in a fire that never goes out.
But land that produces only thornbushes is worthless. It is likely to fall under God's curse, and in the end it will be set on fire.
This shows that the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their sufferings and to punish evil people while they wait for the day of judgment.
