The people trembled with fear when they heard the thunder and the trumpet and saw the lightning and the smoke coming from the mountain. They stood a long way off

Moses did so and stayed there forty days and nights. To the people, the LORD's glory looked like a blazing fire on top of the mountain.

Don't let sin keep ruling your lives. You are ruled by God's kindness and not by the Law.

If something that brings the death sentence is glorious, won't something that makes us acceptable to God be even more glorious?

Mount Sinai was surrounded by deep dark clouds, and fire went up to the sky. You came to the foot of the mountain,

but you were afraid of the fire and refused to go up the mountain. So I spoke with the LORD for you, then I told you that he had said:

God's Spirit doesn't make cowards out of us. The Spirit gives us power, love, and self-control.
