But God is the real source of wisdom and strength.

God gives each of us chance after chance

Those who obey the LORD are daily in his care, and what he has given them will be theirs forever.

I am strong, and I offer sensible advice and sound judgment.

You, LORD, are my God! I will praise you for doing the wonderful things you had planned and promised since ancient times.

This wonderful knowledge comes from the LORD All-Powerful, who has such great wisdom.

And you say, "Let the holy God of Israel hurry up and do what he has promised, so we can see it for ourselves."

But I, the LORD, tell you that these prophets have never attended a meeting of my council in heaven or heard me speak.

With great wisdom you make plans, and with your great power you do all the mighty things you planned. Nothing we do is hidden from your eyes, and you reward or punish us as we deserve.

This message made the Gentiles glad, and they praised what they had heard about the Lord. Everyone who had been chosen for eternal life then put their faith in the Lord.

God had already planned and decided that Jesus would be handed over to you. So you took him and had evil men put him to death on a cross.

I have told you everything God wants you to know.

I now place you in God's care. Remember the message about his great kindness! This message can help you and give you what belongs to you as God's people.

I want you to open their eyes, so that they will turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then their sins will be forgiven, and by faith in me they will become part of God's holy people."

They did what you in your power and wisdom had already decided would happen.

"Has anyone known the thoughts of the Lord or given him advice?

His Spirit lets us know that together with Christ we will be given what God has promised. We will also share in the glory of Christ, because we have suffered with him.

We know that God is always at work for the good of everyone who loves him. They are the ones God has chosen for his purpose,

and he has always known who his chosen ones would be. He had decided to let them become like his own Son, so that his Son would be the first of many children.

God then accepted the people he had already decided to choose, and he has shared his glory with them.

Even before they were born or had done anything good or bad, the Lord told Rebekah that her older son would serve the younger one. The Lord said this to show that he makes his own choices and that it wasn't because of anything either of them had done.

If we have to obey the Law in order to receive God's blessings, those blessings don't really come to us because of God's promise. But God was kind to Abraham and made him a promise.

The Spirit also makes us sure that we will be given what God has stored up for his people. Then we will be set free, and God will be honored and praised.

My prayer is that light will flood your hearts and that you will understand the hope that was given to you when God chose you. Then you will discover the glorious blessings that will be yours together with all of God's people.

God was kind and decided that Christ would choose us to be God's own adopted children.

and by what Christ has done, God has shown us his own mysterious ways.

God did this according to his eternal plan. And he was able to do what he had planned because of all that Christ Jesus our Lord had done.

But you are the LORD's people, because he led you through fiery trials and rescued you from Egypt.

I pray that you will be grateful to God for letting you have part in what he has promised his people in the kingdom of light.

In fact, the Lord Christ is the one you are really serving, and you know that he will reward you.

He gave himself to rescue us from everything that is evil and to make our hearts pure. He wanted us to be his own people and to be eager to do right.

Jesus treated us much better than we deserve. He made us acceptable to God and gave us the hope of eternal life.

So when God wanted to prove for certain that his promise to his people could not be broken, he made a vow.

My dear friends, pay attention. God has given a lot of faith to the poor people in this world. He has also promised them a share in his kingdom that he will give to everyone who loves him.

God has something stored up for you in heaven, where it will never decay or be ruined or disappear.

Don't be hateful and insult people just because they are hateful and insult you. Instead, treat everyone with kindness. You are God's chosen ones, and he will bless you. The Scriptures say,
