Too much pride will destroy you.

Her sufferings will frighten them, and they will stand at a distance and say, "Pity that great and powerful city! Pity Babylon! In a single hour her judgment has come."

They sneer and say cruel things, and because of their pride, they make violent threats.

Our human glory disappears, and, like animals, we die.

A powerful angel then picked up a huge stone and threw it into the sea. The angel said, "This is how the great city of Babylon will be thrown down, never to rise again.

When you eat or drink or do anything else, always do it to honor God.

I praise you, LORD God, with all my heart. You are glorious and majestic, dressed in royal robes

For one hundred eighty days he showed off his wealth and spent a lot of money to impress his guests with the greatness of his kingdom.

A second angel followed and said, "The great city of Babylon has fallen! This is the city that made all nations drunk and immoral. Now God is angry, and Babylon has fallen."

Too much pride brings disgrace; humility leads to honor.

The city of Babylon is glorious and powerful, the pride of the nation. But it will be like the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah after I, the Lord, destroyed them.

But before I could finish speaking, a voice from heaven interrupted: King Nebuchadnezzar, this kingdom is no longer yours.

Then suddenly they disappear like a gust of wind-- those sinful people who worship their own strength.

Too much pride can put you to shame. It's wiser to be humble.

Then the one who invited you will come and say, "Give your place to this other guest!" You will be embarrassed and will have to sit in the worst place.
