Jesus' favorite disciple told Peter, "It's the Lord!" When Simon heard that it was the Lord, he put on the clothes that he had taken off while he was working. Then he jumped into the water.

One afternoon at about three o'clock, Cornelius had a vision. He saw an angel from God coming to him and calling him by name.

Cornelius answered: Four days ago at about three o'clock in the afternoon I was praying at home. Suddenly a man in bright clothes stood in front of me.

Day after day they met together in the temple. They broke bread together in different homes and shared their food happily and freely,

The man saw Peter and John entering the temple, and he asked them for money.

But they looked straight at him and said, "Look up at us!"

The officials were amazed to see how brave Peter and John were, and they knew that these two apostles were only ordinary men and not well educated. The officials were certain that these men had been with Jesus.

Just then someone came in and said, "Right now those men you put in jail are in the temple, teaching the people!"

The apostles in Jerusalem heard that some people in Samaria had accepted God's message, and they sent Peter and John.

James, Peter, and John realized that God had given me the message about his undeserved kindness. And these men are supposed to be the backbone of the church. They even gave Barnabas and me a friendly handshake. This was to show that we would work with Gentiles and that they would work with Jews.
