Day and night our twelve tribes have earnestly served God, waiting for his promised blessings. King Agrippa, because of this hope, the Jewish leaders have brought charges against me.

One hundred bulls, two hundred rams, and four hundred lambs were offered as sacrifices at the dedication. Also twelve goats were sacrificed as sin offerings for the twelve tribes of Israel.

Those who had returned from exile offered sacrifices on the altar to the God of Israel. Twelve bulls were offered for all Israel. Ninety-six rams and seventy-seven lambs were offered on the altar. And twelve goats were sacrificed for the sins of the people.

All who serve in the temple of the LORD our God,

Jesus answered: Yes, all of you have become my followers. And so in the future world, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, I promise that you will sit on twelve thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

At this time a man named Simeon was living in Jerusalem. Simeon was a good man. He loved God and was waiting for God to save the people of Israel. God's Spirit came to him

You will eat and drink with me in my kingdom, and you will each sit on a throne to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

Be on your guard! Remember how day and night for three years I kept warning you with tears in my eyes.

I am just as sure as these people are that God will raise from death everyone who is good or evil.

King Agrippa, I am glad for this chance to defend myself before you today on all these charges that my own people have brought against me.

You know a lot about our religious customs and the beliefs that divide us. So I ask you to listen patiently to me.

I am bound by these chains because of what we people of Israel hope for. That's why I have called you here to talk about this hope of ours.

so that somehow I also may be raised to life.

Day and night we sincerely pray that we will see you again and help you to have an even stronger faith.

A widow who is really in need is one who doesn't have any relatives. She has faith in God, and she keeps praying to him night and day, asking for his help.
