Take him ten loaves of bread, some small cakes, and honey, and ask him what will happen to our son. He can tell you, because he's the one who told me I would become king.

Everything David did while he was king is included in the history written by the prophets Samuel, Nathan, and Gad.

Jeroboam son of Nebat heard what was happening, and he returned from Egypt, where he had gone to hide from Solomon.

Everything else Rehoboam did while he was king, including a history of his family, is written in the records of the two prophets, Shemaiah and Iddo. During Rehoboam's rule, he and King Jeroboam of Israel were constantly at war.

Everything Abijah said and did while he was king is written in the records of Iddo the prophet.
