A messenger came and told David, "Everyone in Israel is on Absalom's side!"

but Solomon's son will still rule one tribe. This way, my servant David will always have a descendant ruling in Jerusalem, the city where I have chosen to be worshiped.

As the sun was going down, someone in Israel's army shouted to the others, "Retreat! Go back home!"
