Then he sent an angel to destroy the city of Jerusalem. But just as the angel was about to do that, the LORD felt sorry for all the suffering he had caused the people, and he told the angel, "Stop! They have suffered enough." This happened at the threshing place that belonged to Araunah the Jebusite.

and he sent an angel that killed every soldier and commander in the Assyrian camp. Sennacherib returned to Assyria, completely disgraced. Then one day he went into the temple of his god where some of his sons killed him.

They would not obey you, and they grumbled in their tents.

During that night the LORD will go through the country of Egypt and kill the first-born son in every Egyptian family. He will see where you have put the blood, and he will not come into your house. His angel that brings death will pass over and not kill your first-born sons.

So he sent a deadly disease that killed those men,

You and your followers have rebelled against the LORD, not against Aaron.

The next day the people of Israel again complained against Moses and Aaron, "The two of you killed some of the LORD's people!"

But the LORD told Moses, "Put Aaron's stick back! Let it stay near the sacred chest as a warning to anyone who might think about rebelling. If these people don't stop their grumbling about me, I will wipe them out."

I will then choose a man to be my priest, and his stick will sprout. After that happens, I won't have to listen to any more complaints about you.

At once an angel from the Lord struck him down because he took the honor that belonged to God. Later, Herod was eaten by worms and died.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing.

His faith also made him celebrate Passover. He sprinkled the blood of animals on the doorposts, so that the first-born sons of the people of Israel would not be killed by the destroying angel.

These people grumble and complain and live by their own selfish desires. They brag about themselves and flatter others to get what they want.

From the temple I heard a voice shout to the seven angels, "Go and empty the seven bowls of God's anger on the earth."
