Friends, I want to remind you that all of our ancestors walked under the cloud and went through the sea.

Because of your great mercy, you never abandoned them in the desert. And you always guided them with a cloud by day and a fire at night.

God hid them under a cloud and guided them by fire during the night.

My friends, I want you to know that I have often planned to come for a visit. But something has always kept me from doing it. I want to win followers to Christ in Rome, as I have done in many other places.

If God cut away those natural branches, couldn't he do the same to you?

Abraham let himself be circumcised to show that he had been accepted because of his faith even before he was circumcised. This makes Abraham the father of all who are acceptable to God because of their faith, even though they are not circumcised.

My friends, you asked me about spiritual gifts.

So don't pay attention to anyone who ignores what I am writing.

So if you belong to Christ, you are now part of Abraham's family, and you will be given what God has promised.
