And there is no other nation on earth like Israel, the nation you rescued from slavery in Egypt to be your own. You became famous by using great and wonderful miracles to force other nations and their gods out of your land, so that your people could live here.

No other god is like you, LORD--you alone are God. Everything we have heard about you is true.

You have chosen Israel to be your people forever, and you have become their God.

You knew that the King of Egypt and his officials and his nation had mistreated your people. So you worked fearsome miracles against the Egyptians and earned a reputation that still remains.

Everyone the LORD has rescued from trouble should praise him,

God rescued his people, and he will never break his agreement with them. He is fearsome and holy.

But he has not given his laws to any other nation. Shout praises to the LORD!

Our God, you save us, and your fearsome deeds answer our prayers for justice! You give hope to people everywhere on earth, even those across the sea.

With your own arm you rescued your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph.

Here is my message for Israel: "I am the LORD! And with my mighty power I will punish the Egyptians and free you from slavery.

I, the LORD, am true to myself; I will be praised for not punishing and destroying you.

The glorious power of the LORD marched beside Moses. The LORD will be praised forever for dividing the sea.

It troubled the LORD to see them in trouble, and his angel saved them. The LORD was truly merciful, so he rescued his people. He took them in his arms and carried them all those years.

Your fearsome deeds have completely amazed us; even the mountains shake when you come down.

You terrified the Egyptians with your miracles, and you reached out your mighty arm and rescued your people Israel from Egypt.

I am commanding you to obey the LORD as a reminder that you were slaves in Egypt before he set you free.

He gave himself to rescue us from everything that is evil and to make our hearts pure. He wanted us to be his own people and to be eager to do right.

The LORD fought on Israel's side, so Joshua and the Israelite army were able to capture these kings and take their land. They fought one battle after another, then they went back to their camp at Gilgal after capturing all that land.
