Numbers 11:20

The people spoke against God and Moses: “Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food! ”

But today you have rejected your God,  who saves you from all your troubles and afflictions. You said to him, ‘You  must set a king over us.’  Now therefore present yourselves before the Lord by your tribes and clans.”

Consequently, anyone who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

Look, you scoffers, marvel and vanish away, because I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will never believe, even if someone were to explain it to you.”  ,

“A son honors his father, and a servant his master. But if I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is your fear of me?  says the Lord of Armies to you priests, who despise my name.” Yet you ask, “How have we despised your name? ”

A person who is full tramples on a honeycomb, but to a hungry person, any bitter thing is sweet.

Now therefore, the sword will never leave your house  because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hethite to be your own wife.’

“Therefore, this is the declaration of the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘I did say that your family and your forefather’s family would walk before me forever.  But now,’ this is the Lord’s declaration, ‘no longer! For those who honor me I will honor,  but those who despise me will be disgraced.

And Joshua said to all the people, “You see this stone #— #it will be a witness against us,  for it has heard all the words the Lord said to us, and it will be a witness against you, so that you will not deny your God.”

So at evening quail  came and covered the camp. In the morning there was a layer of dew all around the camp.

Moses continued, “The Lord will give you meat to eat this evening and all the bread you want in the morning, for he has heard the complaints that you are raising against him. Who are we? Your complaints are not against us but against the Lord.”

You will eat, not for one day, or two days, or five days, or ten days, or twenty days,

But Moses replied, “I’m in the middle of a people with six hundred thousand foot soldiers,  yet you say, ‘I will give them meat, and they will eat for a month.’

The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by pots of meat and ate all the bread we wanted. Instead, you brought us into this wilderness to make this whole assembly die of hunger! ”

Where can I get meat to give all these people? For they are weeping to me, ‘Give us meat to eat! ’

Why is the Lord bringing us into this land to die by the sword? Our wives and children will become plunder.  Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt? ”

So they said to one another, “Let’s appoint a leader and go back to Egypt.”

Is it not enough that you brought us up from a land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness?  Do you also have to appoint yourself as ruler over us?

Why have you brought the Lord’s assembly into this wilderness  for us and our livestock to die here?
