The Lord spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting  in the Wilderness of Sinai,  on the first day of the second month of the second year  after Israel’s departure from the land of Egypt:

I will meet with you there above the mercy seat, between the two cherubim  that are over the ark of the testimony; I will speak with you from there about all that I command you regarding the Israelites.

In the third month from the very day the Israelites left the land of Egypt, they came to the Sinai Wilderness.

In the first month of the second year after their departure from the land of Egypt, the Lord told Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai,

These are the commands the Lord gave Moses for the Israelites on Mount Sinai.

Then the Lord summoned Moses  and spoke to him from the tent of meeting:

The tabernacle was set up in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month.  ,

“You are to set up the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, on the first day of the first month.  ,

Solomon began to build the temple for the Lord in the four hundred eightieth year  after the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of his reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month.  ,

and they assembled the whole community on the first day of the second month. They recorded their ancestry by their clans and their ancestral families, counting one by one the names of those twenty years old or more,

They traveled from Rephidim, came to the Sinai Wilderness, and camped in the wilderness. Israel camped there in front of the mountain.

Suddenly the Lord said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, “You three come out to the tent of meeting.” So the three of them went out.

In the fortieth year,  in the eleventh month, on the first of the month, Moses told the Israelites everything the Lord had commanded him to say to them.

For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands.  He has watched over your journey through this immense wilderness. The Lord your God has been with you these past forty years, and you have lacked nothing.’

The time we spent traveling from Kadesh-barnea until we crossed the Zered Valley was thirty-eight years until the entire generation of fighting men had perished from the camp, as the Lord had sworn to them.
