Hypocrite! First take the beam of wood out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother’s eye.

Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the splinter that is in your eye,’ when you yourself don’t see the beam of wood in your eye? Hypocrite! First take the beam of wood out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the splinter in your brother’s eye.

But the Lord answered him and said, “Hypocrites!   Doesn’t each one of you untie his ox   or donkey from the feeding trough   on the Sabbath and lead it to water?

Then he said to them, “No doubt you will quote this proverb   to me: ‘Doctor, heal yourself. What we’ve heard that took place in Capernaum,   do here in your hometown also.’ ”

Perceiving their malicious intent, Jesus said, “Why are you testing me, hypocrites?

Hypocrites!   You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but why don’t you know how to interpret this present time?

The evil spirit answered them, “I know Jesus, and I recognize Paul #— #but who are you? ”

Why do you look at the splinter in your brother’s eye but don’t notice the beam of wood in your own eye?

Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the splinter out of your eye,’ and look, there’s a beam of wood in your own eye?

Don’t give what is holy to dogs or toss your pearls before pigs,   or they will trample them under their feet, turn, and tear you to pieces.
