“You know that the Passover takes place after two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, because Jesus often met there with his disciples.

Now the Jewish Passover was near, and many went up to Jerusalem from the country to purify themselves before the Passover.

As they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.

Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany where Lazarus was, the one Jesus had raised from the dead.

The Jewish Passover was near, and so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

Then he said to them, “I have fervently desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

“I have sinned by betraying innocent blood,” he said. “What’s that to us? ” they said. “See to it yourself! ”

“Do not present the blood for my sacrifice with anything leavened. The sacrifice of the Passover Festival must not remain until morning.

Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

They said this so that Jesus’s words might be fulfilled indicating what kind of death he was going to die.
