Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Didn’t God choose the poor in this world  to be rich in faith  and heirs  of the kingdom that he has promised to those who love him?

When the plants sprouted and produced grain, then the weeds also appeared.

“Now, Israel, listen to the statutes and ordinances  I am teaching you to follow, so that you may live,  enter, and take possession of the land the Lord, the God of your ancestors,  is giving you.

“Let anyone who has ears to hear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.

“Let anyone who has ears to hear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will never be harmed by the second death.

“Let anyone who has ears to hear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers, I will give   the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in   the paradise of God.

Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice, and proclaimed to them, “Fellow Jews and all you residents of Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and pay attention to my words.

If anyone has ears to hear, let him listen.”

The sower sows   the word.

Then he said, “Let anyone who has ears to hear listen.”

He presented another parable to them: “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field.

Then he told them many things in parables,  saying, “Consider the sower who went out to sow.

Listen to me, you hardhearted, far removed from justice:

“Listen to me, house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been sustained from the womb, carried along since birth.

In the morning sow your seed, and at evening do not let your hand rest, because you don’t know which will succeed, whether one or the other, or if both of them will be equally good.

“And now, sons, listen to me; those who keep my ways are happy.

Now, sons, listen to me, and pay attention to the words from my mouth.

He taught them many things in parables,  and in his teaching  he said to them,

As he sowed, some seed fell along the path,   and the birds came and devoured   it.
