Joshua 6:26

At that time Joshua imposed this curse: The man who undertakes the rebuilding of this city, Jericho, is cursed before the  Lord. He will lay its foundation at the cost of his firstborn; he will finish its gates at the cost of his youngest.

During his reign, Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho. At the cost of Abiram his firstborn, he laid its foundation, and at the cost of Segub his youngest, he finished its gates, according to the word of the Lord he had spoken through Joshua son of Nun.

Now some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists also attempted to pronounce the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I command you by the Jesus that Paul preaches! ”

But  Jesus kept silent.  The high priest said to him, “I charge you under oath  by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

Though Edom says, “We have been devastated, but we will rebuild  the ruins,” the Lord of Armies says this: “They may build, but I will demolish. They will be called a wicked country  and the people the Lord has cursed  forever.

But the king said to him, “How many times must I make you swear not to tell me anything but the truth in the name of the Lord? ”

Elijah said to him, “Elisha, stay here; the Lord is sending me to Jericho.” But Elisha said, “As the Lord lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went to Jericho.

From Janoah it descended to Ataroth and Naarah,  and then reached Jericho and went to the Jordan.
