In the same way, wasn’t Rahab the prostitute also justified by works in receiving the messengers and sending them out by a different route?

Rise and thresh,  Daughter Zion, for I will make your horns iron and your hooves bronze so you can crush many peoples. Then you  will set apart their plunder for the Lord, their wealth for the Lord of the whole earth.

By faith Rahab the prostitute welcomed the spies in peace and didn’t perish with those who disobeyed.

For God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love  you demonstrated for his name by serving the saints #— #and by continuing to serve them.

But the law is not based on faith; instead, the one who does these things will live by them.   ,

For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse,  because it is written,  Everyone who does not do everything written in the book of the law is cursed.   ,

On the contrary, we speak God’s hidden wisdom in a mystery, a wisdom God predestined  before the ages for our glory.

“And the King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

I will bless those who bless you, I will curse anyone who treats you with contempt, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed  through you.  ,

If anyone does not love the Lord, a curse be on him. Our Lord, come!

“Son of man, this is what the Lord God says: Tell every kind of bird and all the wild animals, ‘Assemble and come! Gather from all around to my sacrificial feast that I am slaughtering for you, a great feast on the mountains of Israel;  you will eat flesh and drink blood.

That day belongs to the Lord, the  God of Armies, a day of vengeance to avenge himself against his adversaries. The sword will devour and be satisfied; it will drink its fill of their blood, because it will be a sacrifice  to the Lord, the  God of Armies, in the northern land by the Euphrates River.

The Lord’s sword is covered with blood. It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

Whoever did not come within three days would forfeit all his possessions,  according to the decision of the leaders and elders, and would be excluded  from the assembly of the exiles.

He warned the Kenites,  “Since you showed kindness to all the Israelites when they came out of Egypt,  go on and leave! Get away from the Amalekites, or I’ll sweep you away with them.” So the Kenites withdrew from the Amalekites.

The Israelites, however, were unfaithful  regarding the things set apart for destruction. Achan son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of what was set apart, and the Lord’s anger burned against the Israelites.

So the two men went into the hill country and stayed there three days until the pursuers had returned. They searched all along the way, but did not find them.

Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two men as spies  from the Acacia Grove,  saying, “Go and scout the land, especially Jericho.” So they left, and they came to the house of a prostitute named Rahab,  and stayed there.

Now go and attack the Amalekites and completely destroy everything they have.  Do not spare them. Kill men and women, infants and nursing babies, oxen and sheep, camels and donkeys.’ ”

When the field is released in the Jubilee, it will be holy to the Lord like a field permanently set apart; it becomes the priest’s property.
