“Therefore, fear the Lord and worship him in sincerity and truth.  Get rid of the gods your ancestors worshiped  beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and worship the Lord.

You must be blameless before the Lord your God.

They must no longer offer their sacrifices to the goat-demons  that they have prostituted  themselves with. This will be a permanent statute  for them throughout their generations.

So the church  throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

But the seed in the good ground #— #these are the ones who, having heard the word with an honest and good heart, hold on to it and by enduring,   produce fruit.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him, saying, “I am God Almighty.  Live  in my presence and be blameless.

Samuel told them, “If you  are returning to the Lord   with all your heart,  get rid of the foreign gods  and the Ashtoreths that are among you, set your hearts on the Lord, and worship only him.  Then he will rescue you from the Philistines.”

If you fear the Lord,  worship and obey him, and if you don’t rebel against the Lord’s command, then both you and the king who reigns over you will follow the Lord your God.

Fear the Lord your God, worship him, and take your oaths in his name.

Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the  Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.
