Joshua 10:6

Then the men of Gibeon sent word to Joshua in the camp at Gilgal: “Don’t give up on your servants. Come quickly and save us! Help us, for all the Amorite kings living in the hill country have joined forces against us.”

They went to Joshua in the camp at Gilgal and said to him and the men of Israel, “We have come from a distant land. Please make a treaty with us.”

While the Israelites camped at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho, they observed the Passover on the evening of the fourteenth day of the month.

In those days Mary set out and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judah

For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King. He will save us.

Then she saddled the donkey and said to her servant, “Go fast; don’t slow the pace for me unless I tell you.”

They gave them Kiriath-arba  (that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak) with its surrounding pasturelands in the hill country of Judah.

So Joshua established peace with them and made a treaty to let them live, and the leaders of the community swore an oath to them.

“So I took the leaders of your tribes, wise and respected men, and set them over you as leaders: commanders for thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens, and officers for your tribes.

The Amalekites  are living in the land of the Negev; the Hethites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live by the sea and along the Jordan.”

So the five Amorite kings #— #the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon #— #joined forces, advanced with all their armies, besieged Gibeon, and fought against it.

So Joshua and all his troops, including all his best soldiers, came from Gilgal.

They said to Joshua, “We are your servants.” Then Joshua asked them, “Who are you and where do you come from? ”
