I have extended my hands to you. My soul is like a land without water before you.
O Lord, what is man that you have become known to him? Or the son of man that you consider him?
Send forth your hand from on high: rescue me, and free me from many waters, from the hand of the sons of foreigners.
Unto the end. For David, the servant of the Lord, who spoke the words of this canticle to the Lord, in the day that the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. And he said:
A Psalm of David. When he fled from the face of his son, Absalom.
All nations, clap your hands. Shout joyfully to God with a voice of exultation.
O God, you have rejected us, and you have ruined us. You became angry, and yet you have been merciful to us.
O God of hosts, convert us. And reveal your face, and we will be saved.
It is good to confess to the Lord and to sing psalms to your name, O Most High:
Who will make an accusation against the elect of God? God is the One who justifies;
But in all these things we overcome, because of him who has loved us.
So too, it is said in the ancient proverb, 'From the impious, impiety will go forth.' Therefore, my hand will not be upon you.
