What is man, that you should praise him? Or why do you place your heart near him?
And do you consider it fitting to look down with your eyes on someone in this way and to lead him into judgment with you?
Can man be compared with God, even if he were perfect in knowledge?
Is man much more than rottenness and the son of man much more than worms?
Am I an ocean or a whale, that you have encircled me in a prison?
The Lord is great and exceedingly praiseworthy. And there is no end to his greatness.
For I will behold your heavens, the works of your fingers: the moon and the stars, which you have founded.
What is man, that you are mindful of him, or the son of man, that you visit him?
But someone, in a certain place, has testified, saying: "What is man, that you are mindful of him, or the Son of man, that you visit him?
So too, it is said in the ancient proverb, 'From the impious, impiety will go forth.' Therefore, my hand will not be upon you.
