Then truly, the enemies descended to him. But Elisha prayed to the Lord, saying: "Strike, I beg you, this people with blindness." And the Lord struck them, so that they would not see, in accord with the word of Elisha.

He will expel him from light into darkness, and he will remove him from the world.

Will not the light of the impious be put out, and the flame of his fire refuse to shine?

They have been rebellious against the light; they have not known his ways, nor have they returned by his paths.

then may my shoulder fall from its joint, and may my arm, with all its bones, be broken.

The seal will be restored like clay, and it will remain in place like a garment.

They will encounter darkness in the daytime, and they will grope at midday just as in the night.

Thereafter, he will act to save the needy from the sword of their mouth, and the poor from the hand of the violent.

For I said, "Lest at any time, my enemies might rejoice over me," and, "While my feet are being shaken, they have spoken great things against me."

The way of the impious is darkened. They do not know where they may fall.

Give glory to the Lord your God, before darkness falls, and before your feet stumble on the darkened mountains. You will expect light, but he will turn it into the shadow of death and into utter darkness.

Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and I will shatter his strong arm, which has already been broken. And I will cast the sword away from his hand.

Yet truly, the soul who commits any of these acts through arrogance, whether he is a citizen or a sojourner, because he has rebelled against the Lord, shall perish from among his people.
