Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord, in the sight of the assembly of Israel, and he extended his hands toward heaven.

Send a flash of lightning, and you will scatter them. Shoot your arrows, and you will set them in disarray.

Confession and beauty are in his sight. Sanctity and magnificence are in his sanctuary.

Moses said: "When I have departed from the city, I will extend my hands to the Lord, and the thunders will cease, and the hail will not be, so that you may know that the earth belongs to the Lord.

And Moses, departing from Pharaoh out of the city, reached out his hands toward the Lord. And the thunders and hail ceased, neither did there drop any more rain upon the land.

And so, when you extend your hands, I will avert my eyes from you. And when you multiply your prayers, I will not heed you. For your hands are full of blood.

In those days, I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks of days.

And he was separated from them by about a stone's throw. And kneeling down, he prayed,

And when the days were completed, setting out, we went on; and they all accompanied us with their wives and children, until we were outside of the city. And we kneeled down at the shore and prayed.

By reason of this grace, I bend my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
