even from that time when Israel was torn away from the house of David, and they appointed for themselves Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, as king. For Jeroboam separated Israel from the Lord, and he caused them to sin a great sin.

Then Abimelech called also for Abraham, and he said to him: "What have you done to us? How have we sinned against you, so that you would bring so great a sin upon me and upon my kingdom? You have done to us what you ought not to have done."

And so, the Lord said to Solomon: "Because you have this with you, and because you have not kept my covenant and my precepts, which I commanded to you, I will tear apart your kingdom, and I will give it to your servant.

And he said to Jeroboam: "Take ten pieces for yourself. For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: 'Behold, I will tear the kingdom from the hand of Solomon, and I will give to you ten tribes.

And for this reason, the house of Jeroboam sinned, and was uprooted, and was wiped from the face of the earth.

And the Lord will hand over Israel, because of the sins of Jeroboam, who has sinned and caused Israel to sin."

and I tore the kingdom away from the house of David, and I gave it to you, yet you have not been like David, my servant, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with his whole heart, doing what was pleasing in my sight.

And the sons of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam, which he had done. And they did not withdraw from these,

Yet truly, he did adhere to the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin; neither did he withdraw from these.

And when he had enclosed them with walls, he placed in them rulers, and storehouses of provisions, that is, of oil and wine.

And he appointed for himself priests of high places, and of demons, and of calves that he had made.

But as for me, I have been walking in my innocence. Redeem me, and have mercy on me.

And he said to Aaron, "What has this people done to you, so that you would bring upon them the greatest sin?"

The Lord will lead over you, and over your people, and over the house of your father, such days as have not occurred since the days of the separation of Ephraim from Judah by the king of the Assyrians.

Jesus responded, "You would not have any authority over me, unless it were given to you from above. For this reason, he who has handed me over to you has the greater sin."

Therefore, the sin of the servants was exceedingly great before the Lord. For they drew men away from the sacrifice of the Lord.

My sons, do not be willing. For it is no good report that I am hearing, so that you would cause the people of the Lord to transgress.
